Gwynne House is a 4 bedroom Victorian town house originally built as a detached house in 1896 in traditional manner with local stone features. We are within 6 minutes walk of the beautiful town centre of Stamford. Staying at Gwynne House you will be assured of a very friendly and warm welcome.

About your rooms

The house has, over the years, been modernized and extended in keeping its character and today provides accommodation (given a 3 Star rating by the visitBritain Tourist Board) for 6 guests in three tastefully decorated bedrooms (one double ensuite and one twin/super-king double on the first floor and one twin/super-king double on the ground floor. Each room has a private bathroom/shower room) .

An original pitch pine staircase leads to the 1st floor landing having one twin or super-king bedroom and one en-suite double bedroom. A luxury full bathroom suite including bidet is exclusively for guests in the twin/super-king room and is located immediately next to it.

We also have our Garden Room Suite on the ground floor. This room has twin beds and a sofa plus working period fireplace and a mini fridge. This room has two double panel radiators and full size TV. The room also has French windows opening out onto the garden giving the Guest a wonderful view.

This room is multi-purpose insomuch as the twin beds can be joined to make a super-king double bed and the John Lewis sofa can convert into a double bed in minutes. Because of its size this room makes the ideal family room. We also have a cot and a fold-up single bed if needed. A large, quality private shower room with wash basin and WC complete the facilities for the Garden Room and is located immediately opposite the room door.

Fax and modem facilities are available in the office on the 1st floor. WiFi is provided free to all laptop owners. All rooms have TV and fitted locks with their own keys and a house key. All rooms have quality, modern, sliding sash or German turn-and-tilt double glazed windows and lined curtains.

The on-suite double room looks out onto the garden. The twin/super-king double room looks out onto the front garden. All rooms have central heating with individual thermostat control. Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided in each room.

A mini fridge is available in each room for guests wishing to store cold drinks etc. There is a resident doctor (Galina) in case of emergencies.
